Privacy Policy Guadalupe Credit Union is committed to preserving your privacy, and we do not sell or share your personal information with others outside the credit union unless we are compelled to do so by law. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time by posting a new privacy policy. Guadalupe Credit Union – Notice of Privacy for Credit Union Members IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR PRIVACY AND THE PERSONAL DATA THAT GUADALUPE CREDIT UNION COLLECTS To assure the continued privacy and confidentiality of your personal financial information, Guadalupe Credit Union observes the following practices and procedures: Information We Collect: We collect nonpublic information about our members from the following sources:
- Information such as your name, address, social security number, date of birth, income, assets and debts, which we receive from you on applications or other forms.
- Information such as your account balances, payment histories, parties to transactions and credit and debit card usage.
- Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies, such as your credit history and credit worthiness as well as other information pertaining to the business you conduct with other entities.
Information We May Disclose:
We may disclose any of the information we collect as listed above to non-affiliated third parties only as permitted to by law. This may include the disclosure of information to third-party financial institutions and financial service providers with whom we have joint marketing agreements to perform marketing services on our behalf. This allows us to provide you with the opportunity to consider other financial products and services that may be of interest to you. Any such joint marketing agreement will include a confidentiality clause, which prohibits the third-party financial institution or service provider from using or disclosing the information for any reason other than to carry out the purpose allowed by the agreement. However, should you choose to “Opt Out” of the disclosure of information to third-party financial institutions and financial service providers, please submit a written request by mail to Guadalupe Credit Union, Attn: Nancy Boyes , 3601 Mimbres Lane, Santa Fe, NM 87507, or in person at any of the credit union's branch locations. This request must include the following:
- Your Full Name;
- Your Account Number;
- A Statement of Your Desire to “Opt Out” of the Disclosure of Information to Affiliated Third Parties; and
- Your Signature.
The “Opt Out” period is effective for a minimum of five years. At that time, it may be necessary for you to submit another written request to “Opt Out” of the sharing of information with affiliated third parties. Disclosure of Information about Former Members:
It is generally not necessary for us to disclose information about former members of Guadalupe Credit Union or others who have had a relationship with us. However, if information is disclosed, we will adhere to the same policies as described elsewhere in this notice. How We Protect Your Information:
We restrict access to your nonpublic personal information to those employees who would need to know that information in order to provide you with our products and services. To guard nonpublic personal information, Guadalupe Credit Union maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with Federal Regulations.
